Lotti Sparsi was born from the desire to interpret wine without cultural or geographical barriers. Its name literally means “scattered lots” in Italian, reflecting the project’s one-off wines born from encounters with different places and parcels. Together with artisan friends, Borgogno Rivata selects grapes from terroirs with strong potential and expresses them without following rulebooks or cultural preconceptions.
In short, the project sets aside the idea that “this is how it has always been done” to make room for intuition, attitude, and lived experience - all of which shape its open-minded way of thinking. Every wine is fermented with native yeasts and handled without pumps, using gravity alone. Sulphur is managed only during racking and never exceeds 50 mg/L.
Each wine carries a progressive cuvée number, with separate sequences for reds and whites, as well as the GPS coordinates of its vineyard. Every year, one drawing reflecting the producers’ personal lives and experiences is shared by all wines released that year. Every bottle is numbered by hand.
Every cuvée is a one-off: the same Dolcetto vineyard will not be made again, and no wine will be reissued. For red wines, a blue label denotes a juicy, fresh, crunchy style, while a red label denotes greater complexity and ageing potential.
