Maison Meyer is a micro-négociant founded in Pommard in 2020 by Hamburg-born Nikolas-Andre Meyer and his wife Svenja. After studying business administration and beginning his career in banking, Nikolas went on to study winemaking at Geisenheim University. He later gained experience at wineries in Burgundy and the United States, developing a broad understanding of both viticulture and winemaking.
His inaugural 2020 release sold out in just 24 hours. Since then, Maison Meyer's wines have appeared on the lists of Michelin-starred restaurants around the world, including the three-starred Geranium in Denmark, and have become increasingly difficult to obtain. Maison Meyer's aim is to create honest wines that speak directly to the senses and emotions, free from passing trends.
All wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered, combining the classic terroirs of Burgundy with an intensely personal and artisanal sensibility. The grapes come predominantly from old vines and are sorted entirely by hand, sometimes through painstaking sessions lasting as long as 18 hours. Only top-tier French and Austrian barrels are used for maturation, sourced from coopers including François Frères, Chassin, Damy, and Stockinger.
The wines carry remarkable energy and depth, yet unfold with the lightness and precision of a ballerina. Beneath their quiet elegance lies a sense of purity, transparency, and profound reverence for the land of Burgundy.
